Royal Doulton SUPER RARE "The Bookworm" Professional Series Plate - Book Worm! Presenting the highly coveted Royal Doulton "The Bookworm" plate, the rarest of the nine characters in the Professionals series, produced during a shorter run (1909-1949). This particular Bookworm is an early version, dating back to approximately 1909-1918. Featuring a beautiful green-painted inner rim, this vintage plate is in excellent condition! The colors remain vivid and rich. The front is flawless, while the back is mostly clean with only a few minor imperfections (see photos). Light overall crazing is present, which is typical for pieces of this age and type. It bears the printed Royal Doulton mark, the impressed Doulton stamp, and the painted D3089 series reference. With a diameter of 10.5 inches, this is truly one of the finest examples of "The Bookworm" I have ever come across!
