Sandu Liberman (1923-77) signed color lithograph couple in embrace. There is some water damage to the mat. No damage to the print. I elected to leave the piece in the original frame prior to listing because it adds character and to allow the purchaser to make any changes they’d like. Born in Romania in 1923, artist Sandu Liberman specialized in oil on canvas and lithograph portrait paintings, which often formed narratives about their female subjects. Lieberman's art prints include depictions of dancers, nudes, and city life. In 1952, he received a gold medal at the International Art Festival of Romania for his outstanding work. Sandu Liberman's lithographs show how he takes advantage of the soft, feathery effects created by the process. Upon moving to Israel, where he later died in 1977, he was commissioned by the government to make portraits of various high-ranking officials and the President of Guinea to hang inside the Royal Palace. Lieberman's art is globally recognized.
