In The Amazing Spider-Man #18, published in 1964, Spider-Man confronts the Sandman, whose real name is Flint Marko. This issue marks Sandman's first appearance in the series. Flint Marko, a small-time crook, gains the ability to transform his body into sand after an accident at a nuclear testing site. This Marvel Comics book has a facsimile cover. This transformation allows him to shapeshift, manipulate his size and mass, and possess superhuman strength. In his battle with Spider-Man, Sandman uses his powers to create weapons and evade capture by dispersing into sand. Despite Spider-Man's efforts, Sandman escapes, setting the stage for future encounters between the two. No clue how to grade comics, so I'm not going to try. This is missing an ad page (doesn't affect story), and has a few tears (see photos). Listing price is based on a "Low grade" in Key Collector app. NO RETURNS, so check photos and ask questions.
