Antique sunflower painting on canvas 13”H x 7.5” W Believe this is painted by Mary Meixner. Wisconsin artist. The canvas mounting and varnish indicate to me that this is from the early 1900s, which is consistent with M. Meixner’s activity starting in 1916. I reached out to Iowa State University who has a collection of Mary Meixner’s work and they advised it could be her early work as the craftsmanship is amateur- ish which fits the same early 1900s timeline of when she started painting.
