Rare Signed Hollycraft Parure Circa 1950s 3 PC Set Each Piece Signed CORP. 1950 HOLLYCRAFT Necklace 15" Length Pendant 1 1/2" Length x 1" Width Earrings 2 1/4" Length x 3/4" Width Brooch 2" Diameter Hollywood Jewelry Mfg. Co. was founded in 1936 (some sources say 1938) by Joseph Chorbajian. In 1939, family members Archie Chorbajian and Jack Hazard joined the New York-based firm. In addition to designing jewelry marked Hollycraft, they also manufactured jewelry for Weiss, Tammey Jewels, and Pakula among others. Hollycraft was known for the use of pastel colored rhinestones in their designs, but more vivid hues were also incorporated in a number of their lines. After 1955, when the “aurora borealis” stone was introduced by Swarovski, their collections incorporated these iridescent stones as well. Joseph Chorbajian was also responsible for designing a line of Christmas tree pins in the 1960s that sold very well.
