This listing is for one antique (1890-1920) Satsuma flower vase/bud vase from Satsuma, Japan. It has been appraised/assessed by VALUEMYSTUFF.com as the following --" A Japanese Satsuma pottery vase of tapered ovoid form resting on a splayed foot and rising to a narrowed, everted mouth, decorated in overglaze enamels and gilding with stylized flowers on a "nanako" (fish-roe) ground, the foot and shoulder with plain, buff bands bearing scrolling gilt foliage, marked to the base with manufacturer's seal. The seal on the base reads simply "Satsuma" with a rebus comprising a cross within a circle at the top. This is the "Mon" or family emblem of the Shimazu family who ruled the Satsuma region from the mid 17th Century until the Meiji revolution in 1868." 7.5inch x 4.5 x 4.5 This vase is in great condition with some wear and crazing due to age.
