Here we have a Lot of Three Pairs of Vintage ORANGE-TAB LEVI'S BLUE JEANS that once belonged to an Inmate at the Old Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison, IA. I am told by the owners of the SE Iowa-based auction house at which I acquired these that the inmate's sister--whom they know personally--took possession of the jeans at some point after the closure of the old ISP facility and that they then "ended up in a storage unit." The inmate--Robert Allen Cornell--was found guilty of first degree murder in 1978 and was sentenced to life in prison. The Jeans are PRISON MARKED as pictured. Two are marked as being Men's Size 36 X 32; one on both the back tag and inner tag and the other on the inner tag only. The inner tag on the third pair--the lightest colored piece--is sewn together/over and cannot be unfurled (without tearing it); however, as seen in the last several photos, they appear to be the same size as the one marked 36 X 32.
