A wonderful ring with an intriguing stone. The elongated style is what I refer to as a "knuckle duster". The length of the setting literally overlaps the middle knuckle on my ring finger and reaches from knuckle to knuckle on my middle finger. The multi-colored petrified wood cab has a marbled effect, and, depending on the direction and intensity of light, the colors range from a milky, kind of translucent tan to ochre, rust and chestnut, The photos were taken under bright intense light, so the darker colors came to the forefront. Under less intense and indirect light, the milky, ochre and rust tones are primary. The cab is set in a plain bezel and framed by applied finely twisted wire. The setting is flanked by silver drops that are applied to the 3 prong split shank. A size 8.5, the ring measures 1 9/16" long x 3/4" at the widest (including the silver drops in the width). Unmarked, which is typical for older Native American jewelry. Tests as sterling & weighs 8.3 grams. Very Nice.
