Studies in Pessimism by Arthur Schopenhauer - 1st edition, unsure on printing, very early, rare black bound leatherette I can only find brown 1st editions from $400 - $700 so this black version is very rare. It's definitely the same design as the brown 1st editions labeled by others as "1st printings" so this may be a 2nd printing. The book has no publication date printed. However, there is a pencil date on the title page of 1919 so this was printed before other later editions. Inside the cover it contains the same 12 first ever prints listed from Modern Library, same as the brown first edition does. Same gold cover design BL logo.
