The dock has a nice satisfying switch on it and also lets you control your iron unlike normally. The dock uses a 3 prong and allows a 3 prong iron to be used. You can still easily find replacement tips as well for pretty cheap. I'd avoid using a sponge as that can rust the tip so I'm throwing in the brass flux sponge. You can also get tip tinner for cheap on other sites too.
