These were bought in Andorra France by my grandmother in 1949 or 1950 at a antique store while she was visiting her sister who's husband was stationed there.They are Copper and glass and from the late 1890's to early 1900. 1 is attached to the house and one was for the light post at the end of the driveway. From what she told me is you can't even get into Andorra France now without a resident inviting you in and you can only spend 3 nights. Not sure if it's true but I know she tried to go back and a friend and wasn't able to. The crack in one of the glass pains is from her brother in law while packing them up to be shipped for her. She was going to have it replaced on her return back home but before she could she learned he was killed so she kept the cracked glass to remind her of him. That's all I remember about these lanterns. So if you love antiques and want something antique with a true story behind it then this one is truly unique . These now cost over $2000 to buy from a shop.
