This is a rare, high-grade Articuno from the 1st Print TopSun Original Series set from Japan. Known as a “Blue Back”, (because the back of these cards were blue), this card is much harder to find (especially in this grade) than the Articuno Green Back. This is because there are significantly fewer Topsun "blue back" cards compared to "green back" cards, making the blue back version considerably rarer and more valuable. This Articuno is 1 of only 31 PSA 9 slabs in population, and only 15 cards have received a higher grade. The Japanese Topsun set is considered the first Pokemon set ever printed! Although the copyright printed on these cards say “@copy 1995”, they were actually printed in 1997 by Top-Seika, a Japanese media and publishing company.
