Artisan made and handcrafted. Eye eyes of the owl are natural turquoise, bezel set. The owl sits atop a branch, delicately perched. The carvings are particularly beautiful and unique. Marked as sterling on the posterior to the right of the signature, tested positive for sterling. The history of “Bell Trading Post Inc” began at the height of the Great Depression in 1932 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Its founders, Jack Michelson and his wife, Mildred, hired only Native Americans, famous for their craftsmanship in silver and turquoise jewelry. All jewelry was made by Native Americans, jobs were provided when the depression was ocurring which helped the local economy and wellfare of Native Americans. excellent condition mild signs of wear
