"Six Months at the White House with Abraham Lincoln" by F. B. Carpenter was written in 1867 just two years after the end of the American Civil War in 1865. I don't know whether or not this book ever had a second printing but I think we can be pretty sure this could be categorized a "First Edition", maybe the only edition that was ever printed. The binding, as you can see, is in very poor condition. The first couple of pages are brittle and fragile, but the rest of the book is still very readable, though the reader should take care with it.
