In The Amazing Spider-Man #9, published in February 1964, Maxwell "Max" Dillon is introduced as Electro, a formidable adversary to Spider-Man. Max, a lineman for an electric company, gains the ability to control electricity after being struck by lightning while working on a power line. This Marvel Comics book has an unattached facsimile cover. This incident transforms him into a living electric capacitor, granting him the power to manipulate electrical energy, absorb it to enhance his strength, speed, and stamina, and even fly. Electro becomes one of Spider-Man's most prominent foes and a founding member of the Sinister Six. No clue how to grade comics, so I'm not going to try.
