1930’s Antique Berndorf Silver Grimm's Fairy Tales Nursery Flatware Cutlery Set with original gift box - RARE- The end of the handles have deeply embossed scene from a Grims fairytale. I'm not sure which, I think Hansel and grettle. Stamped 90 (silver) and 45 or 14 which should be the patterns? The knife is also stamped ‘Berndorf’ on the blade. Inside of the box translates from German to - (See complete translation in photo) "Once upon a time there was a tomcat who wore big brown boots. He was a servant to a miller's son..." Puss in Boots is included in the 1812 collection of German folktales by the Brothers Grimm. I do not know the exact age of these pieces. Based on the stamp and some online research I think maybe 30s? If there was a fourth piece in this set, which the box suggests, it is missing. Normal age on box from storage- silverware and box in fantastic vintage condition.
